Wish fulfillment

Whilst going through a folder of magazine cuttings
I notice that I have twice torn out pictures of

They were produced to celebrate the chair's 60th anniversary.
At £536 each they are beyond reach,
but I spotted a bentwood chair in the top picture,
(price £99) and thought,

I've got one of those,

and a paintbrush.
The paint cost £9.49.
So I'm pretty happy.

  1. The Danes seem to be good at designing chairs! I would like an Arne Jacobsen Egg chair, but like you shall get out the paint and brushes and do a little renovating on existing furniture first! Your chair looks brilliant after it's face lift - I love the colour.

  4. Per your expressed wish at Slow Lane Life, here's a photo of "a young Ena Sharples": http://www.museum.tv/eotvsection.php?entrycode=coronationst

And I love what you've done with the chair!

  5. Thank you June. I've never watched a single episode of Corrie so I could be wrong but when I looked for a picture (and this one did come up) I thought I remembered a character called Pat Phoenix and wondered if this was her despite the caption?

  6. You're right, Lucille, that link shows you Pat Phoenix, not battleaxe Ena!

I confess that I stopped watching when Ena Sharples and Minnie Caldwell no longer featured.

  7. Your chair looks fantastic. I love the color, and you appeared to have done an expert job. We are crossing our fingers that we will find a dining room table that will work with the Wegner chairs which I find so comfortable.
