Sun and air

The highest temperatures for seven years.
What a day to go into labour.
It is to be hoped that the Lindo Wing was air-conditioned.

  1. When I heard the news at noon today on the car radio, I thought that very thing about the delivery room being air conditioned. I'm happy to hear mother and baby are doing well.
Lovely thistles and butterfly and chestnut pony. I have an annotated James Herriot collection and it is full of photos similar to yours - his are of the Yorkshire downs. I would love to visit Yorkshire some day!
    Where were these taken, please?

    2. Thank you. Yorkshire is more hilly, correct?

  2. Beautiful images!
The first and last are my favourite.
Enjoy the heat.. it slows you down and makes for a nice time to dream.

Winter in my neck of the woods, but not freezing.

  3. After an overnight stay in hospital for my second son I had to ask for something to eat. I was brought a toast rack with some cold toast in it. One of the slices had had a bite taken out of it.

    1. That would be hilarious if I didn't also think it was terrible. I remember being so ravenous after my first was born. I didn't know to pack some extra snacks. Cream of Wheat never tasted so good.

  4. Mid '60s , 'Chef's Special' in the maternity ward was macaroni cheese ... without cheese it's true , but at least you did get a whole plateful to yourself .
