The sun has not shone today.
For various reasons it has been
gloomy without and within.
Some days are like that.
A horrid letter from a solicitor didn't help.
The infirmities and indignities of old age (not mine)
have been a sad concern.
I have a painful swollen gland on one side only of my neck.
But on the bright side:
my friend's son got the A level grades he needed,
O and I have made two nice meals and had a walk in the woods,
O and I have made two nice meals and had a walk in the woods,
and for the first time
I have succeeded in growing these
Heavenly Blue Ipomea.
Hope the clouds part soon Lucille. Congrats for your friends son. And congrats to on growing the beauiful blue Ipomea
ReplyDeleteSome days are better than others and often a small sleep helps almost as much as heavenly blue. I hope you will be writing a horrid letter back.
ReplyDeleteI think that is the most beautiful shade of blue I've ever seen. could look at it forever.
ReplyDeleteIf you've got to feel blue, the shade of that flower is an elegant way of going about it..
ReplyDeleteHoping tomorrow will be brighter and sunnier.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on successfully growing the beautiful Ipomea, truly magnificant.

See - that's three things! For both our sakes, I hope that we can find another three good things today . . . Chin up, as they say (and I am sure that Lucille the House Captain would certainly concur).

Sorry to hear your gloomy news, but lovely to see your Ipomea. I have always found them fickle to grow outside, but had brilliant ones inside a porch at one house we lived in.
ReplyDeleteThe moral high ground, in response to a mean-spirited letter, is a good place to aim for and can be very satisfying.
ReplyDeleteI came to visit because I saw your beautiful ipomea - we have them in various colours (self-seeding madly all round the garden, which we love) but not quite that shade of blue. So sorry that the day was not been so bright and shiny for you. I hope today finds you on the mend!
ReplyDeleteI hope all the nastiness went away and that the sun is shining upon you today. Gorgeous Ipomoea, I used to grow them too.
ReplyDeleteThose are a bright side indeed.
ReplyDeleteits always good to find a brighter side on pants days.
ReplyDeleteI have just found your blog and am loving it. Looking forward to reading through and catching up x
