It was an uphill struggle
but the view at the top
was worth the climb.
The Hill, though high, I covet to ascend;
The difficulty will not me offend;
For I perceive the way to life lies here:
Come, pluck up, Heart, let's neither faint nor fear;
Better, though difficult, the right way to go,
Than wrong, though easy, where end is woe.
The Pilgrim's Progress - John Bunyan
Splendid! How many steps?
ReplyDeleteMany, many, many. More than 39 anyway.
ReplyDeleteI've always been very taken by the Rue des Méchants Enfants in Paris, and wondered how méchants they had to be to be commemorated?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful spot and the view must have been well worth the climb - although I find the descent often is just as hard with my knees
ReplyDelete"As it was difficult coming up, so, as I can see, it is dangerous going down."
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures.
