We went raspberry picking today.
Got carried away.
Picked and picked,
punnets.
Needed a plan.
Raspberries
and redcurrants
made three
jars of jam.
Add sugar and puree
500 grams;
some for a raspberry ripple ice cream,
some for raspberry Bellinis.
Remember the Summer Pudding option
and macerate a few with blackcurrants.
Freeze a tray for later in desperation.
Wash pots, trays, pans, blender, jug, sieve, plates,
bowls, spoons, spatulas.
Wipe up stains on books, walls,
surfaces, floor, face.
Memo to self:
Enough is as good as a feast.
But so much nicer to have too many summer fruits than, say, courgettes - or worse - marrows.....
ReplyDeleteYes courgette jam has limited appeal I agree. But no danger of that here. All mine are suffering from blossom end rot.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a zucchini Bellini might solve the problem....
ReplyDeleteBut now courgette and lime cake's another matter! Must add raspberry picking to my list.
ReplyDeleteThe woman with the blackcurrant stained curtains laughed as she read the post about the woman and her raspberries..........
ReplyDeleteThere is something kind of wonderful about excess, though, isn't there?
