Living in the past

June 22nd 2011

June 22nd 2012

I didn't even bother buying my pelargoniums until yesterday,
the dead remnants of last year's window box planting
rather suiting my mood.
Then I rallied, and bought orange and pink ones
for an artificial shock of brightness.
This is the brief moment in the year when our kitchen
should be touched by the sun.
The only way that is going to happen
is by revisiting the past.

  1. Thank you for the Tull! The weather here is disappointing the French, I have to admit. But from our point of view, it's better than in Britain, so all is well. I do hope it perks up for you. The theme is a good one, though... Can I suggest a little more Tull, 'to make you feel much better than you could know?':

  3. I love that 'yazz flute' of Jethro Tull. I had that album on cassette and there was nothing like it, was there? Anyway, I truly hope you get some sun in the near future!
