on my birthday
Simplicity of life, even the barest, is not a misery,
but the very foundation of refinement;
a sanded floor and whitewashed walls and the green trees,
and flowery meads, and living waters outside
William Morris
and jugs and cake
and a decent camera
to record the passing days
(approx. 20,000 of them).
Can I just tell you in this one comment that I love your blog, Lucille! I really look forward to coming here because everything you write just strikes me so well and pleasantly. I think it would be fun to know you. Your photos and thoughts are inspiring and deep in their simplicity (a perfect combination, in my opinion!). I've been enjoying your posts every day but have not taken (or had) time to comment.
