Skype portrait

The video link wasn't working properly,
but I very much liked this impressionistic image
of our man in Japan, sitting on his  畳 tatami mat
in front of the 障子shoji screen.

  1. Now, I am not certain but I do feel that there is a little bit of showing off there...

    Well done!

  2. So what's that to the right of him? A tea cloth drying? A Japanese screen door after an earthquake?

    What a nice smile.

  4. Toffeeapple my excellent Japanese comes courtesy of Google Translate, a useful tool especially when trying to read, say, a Finnish blog.
Isabelle that is a screen door. Let's not think about earthquakes.
Cathy, yes he's happy in Japan and I'm happy that he'll be home in a fortnight!

  5. I was just 'speaking' to my son the other night, too. Over Facebook chat. I was smiling, too.
You have a lovely son there, may he get safely home again.
