A spring flower show.
A new walk.
A bright birthday dawn.
The first tulips and the first glass of rosé.
A daring walk at an unusually low tide
round the familiar headland
to reveal the one beyond.
A little symbolic I couldn't help thinking
as I look ahead to
as I look ahead to
the uncharted waters of my sixties
from the last year of my fifties.
Chocolate.
Useful and beautiful presents
and kind cards and messages
from friends and family.
What better?
In my experience, one's sixties hold unexpected joys. May you find the same. Happy Birthday, Lucille!
ReplyDeleteA Belated Happy Birthday then!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Lucille! I always mentally add 'graceful' to 'useful and beautiful' when thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a good one. Blessings for the coming year.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Lucille! I shall be sixty just before you..... and am very much looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Wishing you a very, very happy year - although I suggest that you do not talk to people trimming hedges in case your life changes unexpectedly like Rachel.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! If you walked right past that cake shop without buying anything [and with a perfect excuse for a celebratory purchase] then you're a more disciplined 59 year old than I. (I rather suspect you are, because there's always so much order and organisation within your pictures and in the form of your postings)
ReplyDeleteI hope your year turns out as well as it seems to have begun.
What pretty images you have shown us Lucille.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a very happy year.
A wonderful-sounding birthday. Many happy returns, to you... Jo x
ReplyDeleteWait...is that...the SUN? So very glad it shone for you on your birthday!
ReplyDeleteThat chocolate, the flowers, the new walk all say 'Happy Day'. Many, many happy returns, Lucille!
Wshing you a slightly belated and very, very Happy Birthday Lucille :)
ReplyDeleteVery many happy returns from me too. Being sixty has the advantage of free bus travel and ... not quite for you, but soon... the OA Pension.
ReplyDeleteA very, VERY belated happy birthday, Lucille! But hopefully, like me, you drag the celebration out for at least a week :)
