Sensing a change



Like the 16 year old girl smelling land before she sees it,


sailing toward Martinique on board the ss Nevassa,


so today I received a message on the breeze
saying Autumn is on the horizon.

    Isn't it odd, yet wonderful, to feel a new season's arrival even when we are still experiencing the fullness of the current time?

    Promises of nature are usually kept.
