Despite a less than encouraging weather forecast
we decided to go for our favourite walk
and as we drove away from town,
the sun began to break through the cloud.
As so often, offshore winds cleared the sky
as we reached the South Downs.
We hardly ever see the Seven Sisters
without a blue backdrop
whatever the time of year.
Fresh water meeting salt where the Cuckmere
runs into the sea.
Bone on chalk.
When you need a little cloud
it obligingly builds for the grand finale,
and ushers us back to the car
with a breathtaking panorama
every time.

ReplyDeleteYour pictures are brilliant, good strong colours, great for the winter blues. I know the area a little. We have some friends who used to live at Exceat farmhouse.
ReplyDeletehow utterly beautiful!
