and a roll of sticky back plastic.
The sticky back plastic was a lucky find -
ready made ballerinas.
Fablon has come a long way since my Blue Peter days
when plain colours or gingham effect in yellow or blue was considered
the dernier cri for freshening up those pantry shelves (see here)
or covering matchboxes to make a chest of drawers for the dolls' house.
I made the dancers from wooden spoons (50p each),
off cuts of Fablon and a hot glue gun.
Back stage during the interval.
Too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh that is inspired! I bet she loves it. Such fun xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe Fossil sisters in stickyback plastic! ... perhaps it's just as well I haven't got any .
ReplyDeleteI had to look them up and now I must get the book. Thank you for that intro.
DeleteBravo, Lucille; it is beautiful and clearly much appreciated. I was a Fossil sisters fan too.
DeleteSo that is 'sticky backed' plastic! I had often wondered. That is a very good theatre but my favourite picture is the last one, very contemplative.
ReplyDeleteThat's the art school training. Very impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat and Picture Book. Do you remember that?
DeleteSuch fun!
ReplyDeleteLove it - what fun for both creator and puppet master. I imagine those dancers would have had a good workout by the end of the day!
ReplyDeleteOne of the dancer's legs has suffered an injury already! And yes I had great fun making it.
DeleteLucille, this theatre and its choreographer/director are fabulous to see. What a delight...you are so creative. What joy you are bringing that adorable little girl. xo
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely and she is obviously so engaged with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful creation! I look forward to making Baby E such toys too. Fable (and ric-rac - remember that?) often featured in women's magazines as a way of freshening up one's home, back in the Pre-Waste Era. I have some Fablon here, in a cupboard on the stairs; sadly, whoever covered the shelves went for white, not jolly gingham. Perhaps I should remedy that!
