Gosh, I do miss visiting Kew Gardens. We used to go regularly and frequently when we lived nearby, although our children started to complain once they were old enough to have an opinion! (I think they secretly loved it...) The Orchid Festival is a winter highlight and a definite pick-you-up on a grey February day. Thank you for sharing these photos.
Thank you very much for all this zing, Lucille! Here's a funny thing...about three pictures into my scroll, I suddenly thought...I bet Lucille has been to Kew! I do love that place. xo
Very zing and very cheering. I've only been to Kew once - by train. We hadn't been there for very long and it started pouring, with very close-by thunder and lightning. Everyone took refuge in the glasshouses. Gradually, as the rain showed no signs of letting up, people got fed up and, a few at a time, decided to make a dash for the exit. Once we did, we found that Kew Station was flooded and the trains were all cancelled and, being from Edinburgh, we didn't have much of an idea where Kew actually was and how to escape! This was pre-smart phones. However, eventually the water subsided somewhat and the trains resumed. We must go back sometime but we'll look at the forecast first.
I see it there just above Marianne's. What an ordeal. And very off putting. The worst we ever suffer is the planes in the wrong flight paths which can be very off putting.
Gorgeous pictures Lucille - they make me want to be somewhere tropical. I'm interested you took them with your iPhone - mine are never as crisp and clear as those, but it is quite old now (4s) - which model is yours if you don't mind me asking?

ReplyDeleteNever been to Kew, but seeing these is inspiring. The first photo is particularly stunning, I think, and reminds me of a fabric I saw in Svenskt Tenn.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I left a comment but it seems to have vanished. Anyway, hello. Lovely pictures.

DeleteWow! Wonderful photographs of a wonderful subject Lucille. (May I ask what camera you used?)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Just my iPhone. It's so light and convenient I find it very hard to bother with my 'proper' cameras these days.
