Beach aliens and other matters

Take more pictures.
Write everything down.
Keep a journal.
Back up your files.
There are no secrets.
If the shoe doesn't fit in the shoe store
it's never going to fit.
The empty nest is underrated.

What Norah Ephron wished she had known.

(It has) no redeeming artistic merit.

What Shostakovich thought of his own composition.

  1. You made me laugh (shoe fit!) and made me cry - that music is so beautiful. Just what I needed as I have a bug which means I can't visit my husband in hospital, three panes of glass have just blown out of the greenhouse and we've had a power cut - it can only get better, can't it?

  2. If it has eyes, it must be an alien. And the music is beautiful.

  3. No , February has no artistic merit and jellyfish very little but Sostakovitch's piece definitely has plenty .

  4. I take too many pictures as it is and I've kept a journal since I was 15 but have kind of slowed down on that because I can't remember what I said and I don't have time to reread it all and what do I think is going to happen to it once I'm dead, argh argh? She's right about the rest, especially the shoes and the empty nest (sigh). And I love your aliens.

    1. I wasn't sure if it was animal or vegetable, but it was exhibiting no signs of life.

  6. Wonderful. And you and Nora have reminded me to back up my files, thank you. CJ xx

  7. I don't think I've ever backed up my files - must figure out how to do that. And that creature on the beach is downright odd.

  8. I am not sure I would have stood looking at the alien on the beach long enough to take a picture. It is most peculiar. Did you give it a poke?
