At your own risk

Hmmm.

Very tempting.

We'll just have a look.

It's a steep climb down
but someone has cut some new steps

and provided a bench

and a rope to hang onto.

Here's another sign.
What does this one say?

CLOTHING OPTIONAL
BEACH AHEAD

Hmmm.

Beautiful,
peaceful
and pretty much deserted.

At least in any direction I was looking.

  1. Looks like shoes would be a good idea, at least... So, did you take the offer of optional clothing up?
Well worth the climb though. Lovely beach!

  2. The openness of the shoreline at the end of that descent looks so refreshing.

Lucille, I am very glad that you and yours were fearless, and skilled in your downward approach to the cliffs.

I do wonder...will you post an epilogue sort of post about how you got back up to where you started from?

  3. All of our beaches around here are just like that, but with no signs. Little did I know for all these years that the risk is my own. Wellies would usually be non-optional.

  4. Yes, indeed. Several hmmms there.

  5. It does look rather exfoliating , so I might , given the pebbliness , keep my clothes on .
But it's just the right sort of beach to eat fish paste sandwiches on .

  6. Well done for being intrepid and making your way down - I'd have done exactly the same. Assuming I didn't have a toddler in tow, at least.
They've closed a lovely footpath nearby because it's 'unsafe'. No suggestion of if, or when, it'll be made 'safe' again. I hope it doesn't stay closed permanently (and if I was to ignore the sign, would I get into trouble I wonder?)...
