Looking me squarely in the eye

Alice once recommended Instagram to me.
Square pictures.

I'm thinking about it.

Did you know she has a new blog?
Go now.

  1. Lucille, perhaps I mentioned to you when we met last autumn that several folks were strongly suggesting Instagram to me. I've always liked the square proportion, and have used it in most of my oil paintings. As I am still without a smart phone I'm still not signed up to Instagram but very intrigued by its potential.

These photographs you've shown us here are perfect in the square mode. Of course, my favorite has to be that pink clad cutie with the steady gaze. xo

  2. It all dismays me sometimes. I have 141 unread blog posts and haven't logged in to Twitter in 3 weeks for lack of time. Now if you are on Instagram I will be pulled out further by the tide and perish. So to speak.

  3. Why thank you kindly! Mugs of tea and coffee are available at all hours at my garden table but I am still reviewing whether to offer luncheon and teas. You are most welcome whenever you drop by.

I do hope that you enjoy Instagram. It is a very friendly environment and there is a great variety of photographic styles so you can follow those that you find interesting. The Little Miss is far too adorable to share. Unless it is with us.

  4. Good to know Alice has a new blog - and a gardening blog to boot. I am a big fan of square pics which you may have noticed I invariably use on my blog - there is something pleasing about a square. As I don't have a mobile phone I haven't joined Instagram - it is supposed to be taking over from blogging - but it strikes me as funny that the bloggers that abandon their blogs for the latest craze seem to slowly drift back to blogging - once a blogger, always a blogger - in spirit if nothing else.

  6. Is that look of mild reproach caused by sand between the toes ?

Instagram does sound interesting ...rather the way that bungee-jumping does . In theory . You can try first .

  7. I don't have any insights on instagram but have to surface from the depths of lurkdom to say oh, that BABY!!! Such a lovely little lady she is.

  8. I recently found Alice's blog and now, via her, yours. I'm only a few months in to blogging and love the connections with others but am slightly alarmed at the amount of time I find myself spending! I am also on Instagram and enjoy the immediacy of it. It's like a quick note in pic form, whereas writing the blog takes time and thought; a quick sketch rather than a full painting. Lovely photos (especially the small person in pink). Sam

  9. Love the small person... though I have to say that she has rather a hard stare (like Paddington). Had you just said something silly?

  10. I do know about Alice's new blog but have yet to read it in depth, due to an overload of blogs to read on Bloglovin, after my holiday.

I don't have a smart phone but I did buy a Hudl (for £10 using all my vouchers) and I believe I can use that to instagram things.

    The baby is wonderful.
