Those little Ladybirds are real treasures. I still have some from my own childhood in the 50`s . There is a Ladybird website where they buy and sell old ones as they are very collectable.
Yes I tried contacting her but sadly no reply. I'm afraid mine are mostly in a lamentable condition and collectors are quite particular. I've sold a few to a local book shop and given some to the charity shop next door but kept most of them as I'm not very ruthless!
I culled ours as well, although I kept the 2-volume Kings and Queens of England for reference. As you may tell, I only use the best in reference literature ;)
I've still got my children's Ladybird book of Spelling and Grammar - I find it invaluable!
