This Christmas, with our newly expanded family staying,
I donned the Hercules pinny,
and plunged headlong into the recipe books.
Tassajara Bread Book.
A Year in my Kitchen - Skye Gyngell.
Sarah Raven's Garden and Friends and Family.
Delia's Winter Collection.
Hugh's Three Good Things.
Ottolenghi.
Sally Clarke.
John Pawson's Living and Eating.
Nigella's How to Eat and Express.
Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries I.
Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries II.
Thank you.It was.
I hope yours was too.
May I recommend JERUSALEM? As is often the way with Ottlenghi's books I find I want to cook from no other book for the foreseeable...
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand I am always grateful for any of your suggestions B.
DeleteLooking at all that deliciousness , I feel I must get myself a Hercules pinny ....
ReplyDeleteDo. You will find you are invincible in it.
DeleteClearly, I also need one. Invincibility is a very appealing state.
DeleteHow fortunate are the folks who delight in sampling your cooking and baking. They must know the joy of anticipation when they see you don that pinny!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you for a glorious Christmastime and a very Happy 2013. xo
Thank you Frances. I wish you a very happy new year too.
DeleteThe Hercules pinny and the endeavours of its wearer are magnificent, of course, and may I ask you about the central light in the room where the piano is? I love its laciness and am wondering what it is.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shade by Tord Boontje called Midsummer. It wraps around a cone that they supply. It comes in some beautiful colours.
DeleteI am overly dependent on recipe books and wish I could break free.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a lot of cookery books! And a new one too I see, well done ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is ridiculously late to be wishing you a Merry Christmas, so have a Happy New Year instead :D
You are a domestic goddess. I'm impressed. Happy New Year when it comes.
ReplyDeleteI am mega, mega impressed with your collection of books...... and your pinny!
