How many ways can you spell contemporary?

It's the BBC for goodness sake.
Was someone having a laugh?
I've tried telling them about it
and had two holding emails so far.
See how grumpy I am?
"click view all under genre" you say, but I can't find that bit. Anyway, there is only one way to spell that word surely?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sue.
I should have been clearer. They had four attempts at the spelling. Some of them very creative.
DeleteLucille, I think you need to get out more..
ReplyDeleteThis is how fretful I get when well enough to take a bleary interest in the world but not well enough to get a sense of perspective.
DeleteOh, Lucille, I laughed and laughed! Maybe it was part of the comedy I hope?
ReplyDeleteI made the mistake of saying, when asked about a local retail store, that I just couldn't shop where a painted sign advertised that they sell "stationary." Then found out I was talking with the owner. I'll just stop here.
I've always hoped to retire to Tunbridge Wells and write stern notes about this and that - how thrilled I would be to find you were my neighbour there.
ReplyDeleteI'm grumping alongside you.
ReplyDeleteYou need to meet my brother in law (retired Head of English) and sister (retired Head of Drama), collectively known as Outraged of Glasgow, because they are your soul mates.
ReplyDeleteI'm grumpy too, though if I'm honest that could have something to do with just being back from the dentist.
ReplyDeleteCan I come and live with you and Mise in Tunbridge Wells ... we could have such fun being disgusted together.
Oh Lord, I hope they were having a laugh! If the BBC can't get it right, we are all LOST!!!
ReplyDeleteGood on you, Lucille! Similarly grumpy, I write complaining emails to the ABC (in Australia) ClassicFM people every time their web playlist does not match the actual broadcast. There's a lovely person who faithfully replies every time and thanks me for the correction. Maybe there's a job waiting for her at the BBC?
