Seven awesome secrets about me

I really tried to think of seven awesome secrets about me
because I know that posts with numbered lists are
the way forward.
Try as I might, I couldn't think of anything awesome to tell you
except that I harbour a suspicion
that I should have been left-handed,
my birthday falls on the seventh of the month,
the digits of my age add up to seven
and I can hardly bear to listen to The Archers anymore.

Oh and that this blog is seven years old.
If you have been, thank you for looking in.

  1. In addition I think you may love leaves. I think I should have been left handed too.

  2. Lucille, I wish you many more years of awesome useful and beautiful blogging. Those leaves are very beautiful with their colors that seem to shimmer against the darker ivy, and lighter sky backgrounds. On a Central Park walk yesterday, I really wish I'd had my camera with me. There was a grand visual feast underway.

I'm left-handed and am glad to learn that you might also be, secretly.

  4. The photos would seem to suggest you favor change ... the changing of the leaves at least. They are beautiful.

  5. Congratulations on your anniversary. I think I might have been reading you for almost as long. I too, feel that I should have been left handed, there are so many things I do that way.

Hasn't Autumn been spectacular this year?

  6. Happy bloggiversary. And I'm with you on the Archers. On the point of giving up my 29-year-old habit.

  7. I find everything on your list awesome ... you've been listening to the Archers for HOW long ?

And the fact that you know the way forward blog-wise . I'll just follow behind , scuffing leaves as I go , delighted that someone knows where to go . Long may it last !

  8. Congratulations. Seven years of blogging, I had no idea blogging existed back then. My husband and son are both left-handed although my husband does some sporty things right-handed due to his education. I realised my son was left handed from the age of about six months when I used to give him two spoons to feed himself with and then two crayons to scribble with while I cleared up. I gave up on The Archers years ago.

  9. Congratulations on your 7th! blogaversary

I am sinister, but I can also write with the wrong hand.

(those list posts are click bait. This is much more fun)

  10. The Archers is better than it was in recent times but still not as good as it has been.

  11. Congratulations! So much has changed in your life since you started that this blog is a wonderful record of happy times.

(I agree about the Archers and gave up listening years ago but discovered that I can keep in touch painlessly by reading the summary in The Week)

  13. Those list posts have such drive that they make me feel driven right over. Roll on the next seven years in the gently idiosyncratic surroundings of Useful or Beautiful instead.

  14. I am in awe! 7 years.... and still interesting things to say and show. Congratulations Lucille xxxx

  15. Seven is my favourite number. I've just had a little read back of your recent posts (having been struggling against a tide of responsibilities, demands and all the rest of it). That chrysanthemum in the previous post is beautiful. And the neglected walled garden is heartbreaking to see.
    Sarah.

  16. I have always had issues with The Archers, mostly based on the fact that, no matter how hard I try to listen, by the time the music plays I still have absolutely no idea what happened...

    Happy blog anniversary!

  17. Wow, seven years. I've just passed seven months! It is always inspiring here, Lucille. I've been shouting at Helen in the Archers and I may well have to stop listening because she's being so dim. It's become far too 'soapy' for me.

  18. Here's to the next seven years, Lucille! Always a joy, your blog.
I never listen to the Archers, but I live with a man who does - as a podcast to be listened to during the dog's late walk, which means he sometimes returns in the most awful state, harrowed and wrung out, and can't sleep. I fail to understand it.....

  19. Happy, happy bloggy birthday. And thank you, for all the contemplative inspiration, the joy, and the giggles. I'll be here for the next seven years if you are xxx
