Scary numbers
Many thanks for my Lemonade award. But it has unwittingly plunged me into the scary world of exponential growth.
I know that I should do the decent thing and pass this award on, as instructed, to ten other people, but here's the problem: we are soon going to run out of people on the planet, never mind deserving bloggers, to satisfy this generous and well intentioned impulse.
I'm no mathematician, but I remember being told the story of the grain of rice on a chessboard when I was a child, and it gave me a headache, rather as the notion of infinity still does. Wikipedia tells the story here.
So I give you instead this restful picture of some moss growing on a brick wall and then
we should all have a nice cup of tea and a sit down to drive away the scary thoughts.

Hellebores and bathroom tiles
Chair lift
This old Lloyd Loom chair was neither U nor B.
So I gave it a lick of leftover paint, suitably called Timeless,
which these chairs certainly are,
pulled 79 tacks out of the frame,
and made a cushion for it out of an old pillowcase and an IKEA pillow.
It's a bit more B and a lot more comfortable to sit on.

Nursery rhymes
I'm using these pictures of a vintage nursery curtain to experiment with picture layout.
And it's been fun spotting the nursery rhymes:
Simple Simon (met a pieman)
Three Blind Mice (see how they run)
Sing a Song of Sixpence (a pocket full of rye)
Goosey Goosey Gander (whither shall I wander)
The Queen of Hearts (made some tarts)
Humpty Dumpty (sat on a wall)
Hey Diddle Diddle (the cat and the fiddle)
Little Miss Muffet (sat on a tuffet)
Old Mother Hubbard (went to the cupboard)
Bye Baby Bunting (daddy's gone a-hunting)
Are children still taught these I wonder.
Ha! I see it didn't work at all when I published - nothing like the preview.
Back to the drawing board.
