I agree with others that the irises are indeed lovely. Our winter is really not at all depressing where I live, but the first spring flowers are always such a welcome sight. Your picture of the irises (I'm thinking more of the lower one) is wonderful. Us observers take the imaging for granted, I think. The placement and lighting of the background and the lighting of the flower must have taken a lot of thought and time to implement - and it has paid off handsomely!
Oh! That made me realise I left mine behind in Newcastle, in the front garden. Sniff.
