Throwing open the windows

It is a rare occasion when both these windows are open.
I couldn't even find the keys.

But if it wasn't going to be today,
then when?
There is a warm wind blowing through,
stirring the curtains
and sending papers to the floor.

The Midsummer light shade, rustles and spins
shaking off the dust.

  1. Dust, on a lightshade? I never thought of that!

    1. Ooh yes, Very dusty these fancy light shades, but you daren't put a vacuum cleaner near them.

  2. Very lovely. As are all your posts. I do like your circular meadow and fantasised for a few seconds about doing the same, but our garden is small and our grandchildren wouldn't understand and would want to run through it. Which would doubtless be nice for them but I don't think it would survive.

    1. Yes. Much to consider when there are grandchildren. The three ponds are going to have to go.

  3. Switch the light on Lucille, then I can see what those loaves are.............. are they fruit loaves?

    1. I'm surprised you can see that much Cathy! They are a concoction of my own devising with dried figs, raisins, hazelnuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Also dried milk powder and pumpkin seed oil.

  4. There's something so special about wind gently blowing through the house. It gives off such a sense of space and freedom.

  5. We haven't got two windows opposite each other in our house, unfortunately. There are many days in summer when I would so like to create a draft going right through the kitchen to the living room. Your flower shade is amazing! I clicked on the link and found so many pretty examples.

  6. I do love a through-breeze on a hot day - I spy your wildflower circle too - clever idea.

  7. Lovely - I love these days when doors and windows can be opened, and I do it - shame about the kitchen filling up with flies, though.....
