Accident prone

If the iron fell on your foot yesterday
it is not a good idea
to drop a chopping board
on your big toe
on the same foot
today.

  1. Oh Lucille, please do keep your foot chilled. Gravity is a force to be reckoned with. Daily.

I am imagining the colors of those bruises that will apear. Luminous, with hues that perhaps Rose Hilton might appreciate.

Hoping that the rest of your week will be lighter than air. xo

    1. Straight into a bowl of cold water. So far the bruising is a rather unattractive olive green.

  2. Oh ouch!! Last time I dropped something on my foot I broke a toe, not fun.

  3. Oops! Butterfingers! Painful!

  4. No mercifully. I was trying to flush the limescale out of the tank. It is heavy, unwieldy and attached to the iron by a heavy cable.
Usually it is just the plug that drops on my foot. I thought of your goose fat incident. It was goose wasn't it?

  5. It's a while since I've heard that expression!

  6. I prescribe lying on sofa and watching Wimbledon. Strawberries and cream may be applied internally.

  7. If that had been me, hurting my foot repeatedly, I would know that I was VERY tired, and needed to spend a day on the sofa. I hope you did!

    1. I spent a lot of time reading in the garden in the shade of the apple tree. I don't find our sofa very comfortable and couldn't bear to watch the tennis on a fine day.

  8. It's always a little bit disappointing if the impressiveness of the bruising isn't in direct proportion to the scale/pain of the incident - it's like having nothing to show for your trouble!

    1. I thought I'd be all colours of the rainbow.

  9. I'm so after the event but 'yowser'! Poor you. Hope your foot is recovering and not too sore now.

  10. I hope that you are on the road to full healing by now; I do sympathise.
