Eyes down

on the shingle

It's as near to a meditative state
as I'll ever get.

  1. Difficult to know what to say here, Lucille. Lovely colours, textures, but hideous littering of our endangered seas and marine life.

    1. Yes it gave me a lot to think about. I'll be taking a bag next time.

  2. The artist Kurt Jackson makes collages with all the beach debris he finds - there, I've found a new hobby for you.

  3. Lucille, thank you for this series of photos. It was good to follow your steps and your sights. I could hear the crunch. Is this mix of stones and shells what is called shingle?

Maybe take along a bag for a picking up if you retrace your steps. I really liked the composition possibilities that the overlays gave.

    1. Yes it's a shingle beach with sand at low tide and an area of ancient fossilised forest at one end. I'll be taking a bag next time and then maybe I can take up Elaine's suggestion.

  5. It's a bit sad about the rubbish. I think most of it comes from ships.
