The Persimmon bowl

I have taken this from a folder labelled
'a warm November day'.

I like this bowl.
It has splashy leaves and flowers on it,
clumsily and quirkily painted
in a slightly oriental style.
Something about it makes me think of
Quentin Blake's drawings.
His website is well worth a root around,
especially for the videos about the way he works
and the interactive children's page.

  1. The flowers on the bowl do look like Quentin Blake drawings! Something about the way they go up at the edges and the colors don't stay in the lines -- how funny. I love the way persimmons look, too. I like to eat them all right, but I'd actually prefer to look at them.

  2. The bowl is wonderful and it and the fruit look so good goencetogether, and yes, the bowl does have a look of Quentin Blake's work. I love his illustrations.

  3. Yup. It's going to be a trawl through the treasures in the archives for the foreseeable future! I'll be posting last year's snow pictures soon. No one will know. It can be our little secret.

  4. Lovely bowl. Believe it or not, I have never enjoyed(?) a persimmon.
