Whit biscuits and a mackerel sky

There was only one consolation for a cold grey Whit Monday,
heralded by this corrugated sky last night,

make and eat
a large number of biscuits.

O's pistachio macaroons from Nigella Lawson's Domestic Goddess.
(Don't be deceived; the sunshine on this plate was only
a teasing glimmer).

Lemon and cumin biscuits from The African Kitchen
by Josie Stow and Jan Baldwin via Sarah Raven.

Then put the heating back on just for a little while
and watch Springwatch

  1. Your macaroons look wonderful.... said longingly by someone on a low-carb diet..... and on such a pretty plate.

  2. Oh my goodness, such delectable looking goodies! I will have to try them, if I can find the recipes.
That sky is equally wonderful. We don't get those very often here.

  3. What beautiful baking ...makes my mouth water!

  4. Beautiful sky photographs. The macaroons look gorgeous too.........

  5. With biscuits like that the sun is guaranteed to shine! Well, on the tastebuds.

  6. Fantastic clouds. The biscuits look pretty good too!
